Going forward.... and back

I'm trying really hard to get back on the horse with blogging. Not only I am trying to go forward, but I am trying to go backwards at the same time. My pictures are always dated, so I am going to try to post the appropriate days backward. It may not have all the fun quips the kids says, but it will be recorded. This blog is for my kids. I want them to have these memories. So, I am going to try to tell them about my childhood, and theirs too! I will have "Memory Monday" where I will write about my childhood. "Throwback Thursday" will be about things that were popular or in style when I was growing up. Dare I say, I actually had an idea for Wednesdays, but I already forgot it? I guess it's good that I am writing things down.

It's the little things

I am seeing how little I remember about the kids and what they say and do as each year comes to a close. Everyone tells you "it goes by so fast" and you really don't believe them at first. You're just so tired you can barely gt through the day, let alone think about a year. And then they start school, and sports, and all of a sudden life gets so busy. I am oping blogging again will help me remember the little things, even if I need this to remind me what those were.

Yesterday we were driving in the car to Walmart. Julia was saying how when she sees Connor in the halls at school she runs up to him and gives him a kiss and a hug. (insert big mommy smile) Apparently Connor was getting made fun of for this, so Julia and Connor came up with a secret handshake to do in school together, so they can say I love you without getting made fun of.

This morning Elaina was getting dressed and doing her usual antics. Taking FOREVER.... putting the leg in the wrong side of the jeans, and her head in the wrong hole of the shirt. I need to wake that girl up 20 minutes earlier just to get her ready. After she was finished getting dressed she looked and Julia, Connor and myself and said "Did you enjoy the show?"

These little things I am thankful for, to put a big smile on my heart each day. I love those kids of mine!
